Ann Marie Claus

Ann Marie Claus, 84, of Scranton, passed away on Wednesday, July 23rd at her daughter and son-in-laws home, following an illness. Her husband of 57 years, Herman E. Claus, III, passed away on 2020.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude Flynn - Kakareka. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School Class of 1959. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church Parish.

Surviving is her daughter Kimberly Schieber and her husband Jay of Springbrook Township; grandson Shawn Schieber; granddaughter Amber Doughty and her husband Jay; great-grandson Jax Doughty; sister-in-law Nancy Williams; brother-in-law David Williams and his wife Judy; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Korine Tomarelli in 2022; sister Mary Ann Wardell.

Ann Marie's family would like to thank her niece Lyn Carroll for the loving care and time she gave to Ann Marie. Also, to the staff and nurses of Allied Hospice, especially Jonathan and Heather for their care and compassion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, July 30th at 11:00AM in the Immaculate Conception Church, 800 Taylor Ave. Scranton, Pa by Rev. Jeffrey D. Tudgay, Pastor.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of Mass.

Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of Vanston and James Funeral Home, Scranton.
