Its with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ann McGrath, who left us on March 5 at the age of 79. 

A devoted mother and friend, Ann was known for kindness, warm smile and unconditional love. 

Ann was born December 3, 1946 in Scranton.  After marrying Jack they made several moves, first to Orlando, FL area, then Winter Park FL., working as an OR nurse. Once Ryan arrived it was time to return to PA. closer to family. Landing in Lansdale, PA as the next stop. Working again as a nurse part-time because being a mom was her number one job. Finally once Ryan went off to college Jack and Ann returned to the Greenridge section of Scranton, where Ann was one of the first team of nurses that opened Moses Taylor birthing suites. She loved the new babies and said often it's always a joy to see a new life coming into the world. Once Ann retired she loved playing mahjong, dominoes, and spending time with her grand kids that she loved with all her heart. 

She was preceded in death by her husband John (Jack)T. McGrath; her parents Eugene and Blennie Garvey. 

Surviving is her son Ryan who lives in King of Prussia, PA with his wife Kyra, grandchildren Fletcher and Trevor; her sister Regina M. Garvey of Tampa, FL; along with a large extended family and close friends.

 The funeral will be held Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel 1605 Oram Street, Scranton Thursday March 12 with viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial beginning at 11 am. 

Interment Cathedral Cemetery.
