Anthony Gelesky Tony Joe

Anthony “Tony Joe” Gelesky, 78 of Jefferson Twp, passed away Saturday evening at Regional Hospital of Scranton following a brief illness. His wife of 15 years, Rose Lee, passed away in 2006.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Ognowsky Gelesky. He was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and attended the University of Scranton. He was the owner of Tony Joe Construction. Tony was a member of the Gravity Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, reading, smoking cigars, Nascar, and the NFL.

Surviving are his son Jon David Gelesky and granddaughter Alina Gelesky.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Tricia Gelesky and sister Jeannie Gelesky.

Private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, December 10, from 1 – 3pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel, Pa 18436.

Memorial contributions in Tony’s name may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Fund.
