Barbara Shaffer, Lake Ariel, passed away early Thursday morning in the Suwanee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Florida.  She was the widow of Elmer J. Shaffer who passed away in 2004.

Born November 17, 1936, in Goshen, New York, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Anna Christiansen Hardler.   She was a member of the Avoy Christian Church.  Barbara had been employed as a sewing machine operator in her early years but most of her life was spent caring for and raising her family while working on her family’s farm.

Also surviving are daughters Norma Lodini and Linda Cox;  sons Kenneth Shaffer and Donald Shaffer ; fourteen grandchildren;  great grandchildren;  nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter Dorothy L. Shaffer.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 3 ^rd at 11am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Friends may call Wednesday morning from 10am until time of service in the funeral home.

Interment, Avoy Cemetery.
