Bethyl N. Martin of Lake Ariel died Thursday morning at Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center following an illness. Her husband was the late Richard Martin who died in 1981.

Born in Helena, MT, daughter of the late Johnathan Duane and Mildred Moffitt Maxson, she was employed as an administrative assistant in the manufacturing industry prior to retirement.

She was a quiet woman who loved to read. She will be greatly missed for her quiet, no-nonsense approach and her unflappable calm.

Surviving are daughters Liza Pfaeffle and her husband Edward, Lake Ariel, Laura Ellensohn and her husband Walter of Islip, NY, and Linda Brown and her husband Rodney of Millbrook, NY; a brother Donald Maxson of Seattle, WA; a sister Patricia Abbott of Phillpsburg, MT; grandchildren Matt, Jeff, Ali, Dana, Greg, Rich, Eddie, Thomas, and Claire; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers William, LeRoy, and Leslie Maxson.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Friends may call Monday from 4:00-7:00pm.

Cremation will follow the service in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.

Interment, Sunset Hills Cemetery, Bozeman, MT.
