Betty M. Cobb of Lake Ariel died Friday night at Wayne Memorial Hospital following an illness. Her husband was the late Homer A. Cobb who died in 1967.

Born in Lake Ariel, daughter of the late William R. and Annette Dennis Fahrenbach, she worked as a secretary for Shaughnessy Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.   Betty was a lifetime member of the Lake Ariel Volunteer Fire Company, the Lake Ariel Senior Citizens Group and had been very active with Wayne County 4H serving on the Wayne County 4H Extension Committee.   She was well known for her talents in making costumes for the Ritz Theater as well as throughout the Lake Ariel area and was known by many as “costumier extrodenair”

Surviving are daughters Rosalind M. Williams, Sally Wilson Huffstutler and her husband Michael, and Susan J. Swingle and her husband Richard of Lake Ariel; a sister Judith L. Williams of Lake Ariel; brothers William R. Fahrenbach, Jr. of Lake Ariel and Jared L. Fahrenbach of Scranton; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren;  nieces and nephews;  great nieces and nephews;  great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son Ross; a great-grandchild Alex; son in laws Thomas Wilson and Darryl Williams.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Friends may call Wednesday morning from 10:00-11:00am.

Interment, East Canaan Cemetery, S. Canaan.
