Brian Shaffer

Brian Shaffer, 52, of Lake Ariel, passed away Wednesday February 5th, 2014 after a long illness.

He was the loving husband of Karen Smith Shaffer. The couple had been married for 30 years and enjoyed being together and working together every day.

Born July 24, 1961 in Honesdale, he was the son of Doris Woodworth Shaffer and LaVerne Blaine Shaffer. Brian was a devoted father of Thomas Shaffer, Lake Ariel.

Brian attended Western Wayne High School and graduated in 1979. He served the community as owner and operator of Shaffer’s Do It Best Hardware in Hamlin where he and his wife Karen worked side by side day in and day out, selling the business in 2013 due to his illness.

He was proceeded in death by his mother Doris Shaffer.

Interment, Hamlin Cemetery, Hamlin.

He will be greatly missed by his wife and son.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
