Bridget Bree Dellabella

Bridget (Bree) DellaBella, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, at the age of 89.

Born on January 30, 1936, in Ireland, Bridget carved out a remarkable life after arriving in the United States to pursue her nursing career. She spent her professional life dedicated to caring for others and embodied the spirit of compassion and service that defined her vocation.

A proud Irish woman, Bridget was known for her vibrant red hair, her lilting Irish brogue, and her unwavering Catholic faith. She was deeply involved in several churches throughout her life, holding numerous volunteer positions that showcased her generous heart and commitment to her community. Bridget’s kindness extended beyond her volunteer work; she was always ready with a smile and the warmest of welcomes, making everyone feel special and included. Bree was blessed with a large group of friends from all over the country who will miss her dearly.

Bridget’s love for her heritage was evident in her favorite pastimes. She enjoyed reciting Irish poems while joyfully riding on the back of her husband’s motorcycle. A master in the kitchen, she was famous for making the world’s best pancakes and Irish soda bread, treats that brought family and friends together in celebration. She instilled a love for her cultural roots in her children and grandchildren, often reminiscing about her life in Ireland and sharing stories that sparked joy and laughter.

Bridget is survived by her devoted children, Paul DellaBella and his wife Charmaine, Patricia Ruis and her husband Michael, and Phillip DellaBella and his wife Colleen. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren, Matthew Ruis and his wife, Claire, Catherine Ruis, and Christopher DellaBella, as well as her adored great-granddaughter, Margot Ruis; and many nieces and nephews.

Bridget’s memory will be honored and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
