Bruce A. Swingle, 91, a lifelong resident of Lake Ariel passed away on July 31, 2026.

He was a graduate of the former Lake Consolidated School prior to working as a supervisor at Dairy Lea, Goshen NY. He was also the owner of the B&B Diner, Lake Ariel, and Swingle Electric. 

He was a constable for Lake Ariel and surrounding areas for 5 years, and was a member of the Lake Ariel Fire Company as a fire police captain for 45 years.

Bruce loved taking care of his blueberry bushes and his yard up until his death. 

He is survived by his sister Sharon (Swingle) Wheeler of Moscow; two daughters, Becky (Swingle) Strait of Hawley and Bonnie (Swingle) Miller of Stroudsburg; grandchildren Brett Swingle of Crystal River, FL; Jesse Swingle of Lake Ariel; James Swingle of Mt. Cobb, Nick Swingle of Lake Ariel and Brad Swingle of Lake Ariel. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Walz) Swingle of Lake Ariel, his parents Alvin and Ruth (Ransom) Swingle of Lake Ariel;  son Robert Swingle of Hamlin;  his brother Clyde Swingle of Hawley;  his sister Jean (Upright) Swingle of Waymart; and brothers Lewis Swingle;  grandsons Jeffrey, Brent, and Beau Swingle.
