Camille “Cookie” Hartwig (née Cappadonna), of The Hideout in Lake Ariel, PA and formerly of Cliffside Park, NJ, passed away on January 22, 2026. Cookie was born on June 20, 1939, in Jersey City, NJ. She was the daughter of Victor and Lucy Cappadonna and a proud graduate of the Cliffside Park High School Class of 1958. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted member of Epiphany Roman Catholic Church in Cliffside Park.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, George William Hartwig. Her sisters, Victoria Fucci and Sharon Catalioto, were also waiting to welcome her at heaven’s gate.
Cookie lived by the theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity. She dedicated herself to the well-being of others through her volunteer work with the Meals on Wheels program, tutoring ESL classes at her local library, and teaching in the Awakenings Pre-K program at Epiphany Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristal, and her husband, Michael Terranova; her son, George William Hartwig Jr., and his wife, Margaret; her brother, Louis Wotman; her granddaughter, Michelle, and her partner, Brian Haviland; her granddaughter, Jessica, and her husband, Steven Balzano; and her grandsons, Michael Terranova and Owen Hartwig. She is also survived by her cherished great-grandchildren: Isabella, Gabrielle, and Andrew.
As the sun sets on her earthly journey, we find comfort in knowing she now rests in eternal peace, surrounded by her loved ones in the arms of God.
