Carmela Marie Buckman, 98 of Scranton, passed away Friday morning at Mountain View Care and Rehabilitation Center in Scranton. Her husband, Walter Buckman Senior, passed away in 1974.
Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Elvira Nanni – Giambrone. For many years, Carmela was a Graphic Artist in New York City and a Cub Scout Leader. Carmela enjoyed art, Saturday bingo, and was very dedicated to her faith. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her daughter Betty May of Toms River, New Jersey, a son Walter Buckman Junior and his wife Jennifer of Lake Ariel, grandchildren Alexandra and Dalton Buckman of Lake Ariel and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Ralph May and brothers Frank and Alfonso Giambrone.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 31 at 10:00am in St. Thomas More Church – 105 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel with services by Rev. Stephen Bosomafi, Pastor.
Friends may call from 9:00 am to 10:00 am and then are welcome to attend Mass in the church.
