Carolyn Ann Black, 84, of Lake Ariel, passed away on July 18, 2026. Her husband of 52 years is the former Rev. Wilbur Black. 

Born on January 30, 1942, in Lake Ariel, she was the daughter of the late George and Jennie Evarts. Carolyn dedicated her life to education, serving as a devoted school teacher with Western Wayne. She earned her Master's Degree from Marywood and made a lasting impact on the lives of her students, embodying the values of passion and dedication to learning.She took great joy in baking and loved to read, often intertwining these passions with family. Her deep commitment to her church and active involvement with the Maplewood Fire Company illustrated her dedication to her community and the relationships she cherished. Furthermore, she meticulously took care of the Maplewood Evangelical Cemetery records and books for many years. 

Carolyn's legacy of love, kindness, and commitment to education will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

A cherished mother, grandmother, and community member, Carolyn is survived by her son, Michael Black; daughter in law Laurie Black her daughter, Amy Beach her husband Doug Beach ; and her pride and joy her beloved grandchildren: Preston Klinkiewicz, his wife Amber Klinkiewicz, Cole Samson,Julia Black, Ty Beach, and great grandson Wilbur Klinkiewicz 

Her beloved sister Georgianna Biesecker preceded her in death. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel with Rev. Jane McCarthy officiating. 

Friends may call Wednesday morning from 9:30am to 10:50am.
