Clarence “Jack” Gable, Jr. of Dingmans Ferry died Sunday evening at Wayne Woodlands Manor following an illness. His wife was the former Virginia O’Neil who died in 1990.
Born in Narberth, PA, son of the late Clarence and Helen Kernan Gable, he was the owner of The Gay-Bull General Store and Dairy Bar in Dingmans Ferry for 26 years. He was also a Forest Ranger, Fire Fighter, and Licensed Pilot for the PA Department of Forest and Waters. Prior to that he was caretaker and guide for Easton Anglers Hunting and Fishing Association in Canadensis. He was a member of the American Legion Post 851, Dingmans Ferry and the American Legion Post # 531, Waymart. He was a veteran of the United States Marines Corps.
Surviving are a daughter Linda Bond and her husband Jim of Sterling; sons Michael Gable, Sr. and his wife Barbara and Steven Gable and his wife Susan all of Digmans Ferry; a brother John Gable of Cornwells Heights, PA; grandchildren Michael, Jr., Amy Ann, Thomas Jack, and Brandon Michael Gable, and Angie Sebring; great-grandchildren Jacquelyn Virginia, and Michael John Gable, III.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Jayne Marie Bond; a sister Kay Coleman.
Cremation took place at the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
