Dante Coccodrilli

Dante Coccodrilli, 99, formerly of Lake Ariel, died Monday in the Ellen Memorial Healthcare Center after an illness.   His wife of 71 years was the former Bertha Zebi who died in 2013.

Born 1916 in Jessup, he was the son of the late Dominick and Caroline Cacciamani Coccodrilli.   He was a graduate of the Lake Consolidated School and was a member of the St. Thomas More St Mary’s Parish Community, Lake Ariel.  Prior to his retirement he had been a co-owner of the Mid Valley Farm Dairy with his brothers for 60 years.  His favorite part of the business was working with Holstein cows.   Dante was a charter member of the Lake Ariel Lions Club and a recipient of its Humanitarian Award.

He enjoyed ballroom dancing with his wife.

The family would like to make a special thank you to the staff of the Ellen Memorial HealthCare Center for their excellent care of Dante and Bertha.

Surviving are a son Donald and his wife Carol of Honesdale; a son in law Harry McKay of California;  granddaughters Loren McKay and Nicole Coccodrilli; nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter Joy Coccodrilli-McKay; a sister Helen Casciari;  brothers John, August, Louis, Edward, Tony and James.

All attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10am in the St. Thomas More Church, Lake Ariel by Rev. Stephen Stavoy, pastor.

Friends may call Friday from 5-8pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Spring Interment, St. John’s Cemetery, Jessup.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Western Wayne Education Fund sponsored by the Lake Ariel Lion’s Club c/o Lion Dean Collins 1370 Charles St. Jefferson Twp. Pa. 18436.
