Darryl James Swoyer, Sr.

Darryl James Swoyer, Sr., 52, of Maplewood, passed away Wednesday, February 19th at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia following an illness. His loving wife and best friend of 31 years is the former Sherry Lee Mead – Swoyer.

Born in Lake Ariel, Pa, he is the son of the former Connie A. Starr – Swoyer of Royersford, Pa and the late Harry W. Swoyer. He was a graduate of Western Wayne High School Class of 1991.

Darryl enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. He was an avid outdoors man. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and had a great love for animals. His true love though was his six kids and his three grandkids.

Also surviving are his sons Austin Swoyer and his girlfriend Samantha Franklin of Waymart, Darryl Swoyer, Jr of Carbondale, Dakota Swoyer of Stroudsburg, Derek Swoyer of Maplewood; daughters Coral Shaffer and her husband Derrick of Starlight and Sabrina Swoyer and boyfriend Michal Duchnowski of Moscow; a sister Donna Grillo and her husband Gregory of Royersford Pa; grandchildren Rylee, Maddie, and Rowan Swoyer; nieces Hannah and Abby Grillo.

He was preceded in death by his brother Todd Swoyer and his niece Ashley Swoyer

Private cremation took place at the Lake Region Crematory in the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.

Celebration of Life will be private and at the convenience of the family.
