Dean William Martin

Dean William Martin, best known as Billy Martin passed away on November 26th, 2015 at home after a courageous battle with Leukemia.  Born on October 23rd, 1954 in Honesdale, PA he was the son of the late Isabel and Fritz Martin.

Billy was a past member of the Blooming Grove Volunteer Fire Department.  He owned Tafton Auto for many years and worked for Waste Management, Steuhl & Sons, and Mike Kuzmiak.  His passion in life was dirt track racing.  He could be found track side along his son’s fixing their cars and helping them race stock cars. He also loved to raise farm animals and was an avid collector of tractors.  Billy spent a lot of time at auctions buying old farm equipment and tractors.

Billy is survived by two sisters Joan Hamer and her companion Dave of Blooming Grove, PA and Joyce and Joe Topf of Long Island, NY.  Also survived by three sons, Anthony Cooper, William Martin, and Robert Martin, and one daughter Bonnie Martin all of Blooming Grove.  Billy has four grandchildren who were his soul, Damon, Isabella, Frederick, and Paige Martin all of DIckson City, PA.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews and many beloved friends.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Cremation took place in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
