Denise J. Shaffer Christiansen

Denise J. Shaffer, 54 of Jefferson Twp., died Friday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton following an illness. Her loving husband of 34 years is Mark Shaffer.

Born in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Christiansen and Ann Gibbons –Watson. Prior to her illness, she was a Paraprofessional at the NEIU 19. She was a member of Amazing Grace Bible Baptist Church in Moscow.

Denise could be found serving in her church whenever the doors were open. She loved working with the children in many different areas as well as organizing different events for the church. She loved serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in any way she could.

Surviving is her daughter Britteny Shaffer of Old Forge; a sister Roxanne Watson of Ashley, Pa; a brother David R. Watson of Dunmore; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother David A. Watson.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00am in the Amazing Grace Bible Baptist Church, 1180 Church St. Moscow, Pa. officiated by, Rev. John Hunter, Pastor.

Friends may call Friday from 10:00am until the time of service

Spring Interment, Kizer Cemetery, Cortez.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
