Donald E. Jackson, Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, died late Friday in the Allied Hospice Center. His wife was the former Catherine Heaney who died in 2003.
Born in Indiana, he was the son of the late Leo and Emma Jackson. After his schooling Donald served our country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He was stationed in Okinawa and was a combat veteran. He was awarded the Purple Heart. After his time in the service Donald worked for the Ford Motor Company in Michigan for 28 years.
Surviving are daughters Karen Beard and Kit Jackson; sons Eddie and David Jackson; a sister Betty Bergadine; a brother Dale; grandchildren Randy, Emily, Owen, Tyler, Tristan and Elizabeth; nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by an infant brother Robert.
Military services will be held Wednesday at 11am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10am until the time of service.
Interment, private at the convenience of the family.
