Doris R. Hemmler

Doris R. Hemmler, 91 , of Hollisterville, passed away Saturday morning at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center. Her husband of 65 years, Burton E. Hemmler passed away in 2016.

Born in Lake Ariel in 1933, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ruth Shaffer – Frisbie. She was a graduate of Lake Consolidated School. Prior to retirement, Doris worked at Gould Battery in Dunmore, Pa.

Doris enjoyed to garden and travel to Canada and Lancaster with her family. Also, she enjoyed her time making ceramics. Doris and Burton spent many years working together on their family dairy farm.

Surviving are her son Rick Hemmler and his wife Linda of S. Abington Twp.; daughters Barbara Morgan of Spring Brook Twp., Judy Jones and her husband Aaron of Knoxville, TN, and Cathy Sexton and her husband Wayne of Hollisterville; siblings Sharon Lee of Lake Ariel and Robert Frisbie of Florida;13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Black; brother Leroy Frisbie; great-granddaughter’s Olivia Heffinger and Addison Allard.

Interment, private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
