Dorothy Hazen, 95, of Maplewood, PA, departed this world for heaven on Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart, PA.
She was the widow of Raymond Hazen, Jr who passed away in 2005. They were happily married for 58 years. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son David Hazen and sisters Celia Chapman, Mildred Webster and Evelyn Black.
Born in Mt. Cobb, she was the daughter of the late William and Norma Laird, Dorothy was a graduate of Jefferson High School and was a member of the Canaan Bible Chapel. She worked for many years in the garment industry as a seamstress. Dorothy loved her flower gardens, baking pies and raising her three boys.
Surviving are two sons, Gary and wife Lillian of Lake Ariel and Daniel and wife Lu of Sugar Land, Texas; four grandchildren Tamara Hodorawis and husband Brian, Nathan Hazen and wife Maria, Alyssa Hazen and Erica Hazen; five great grandchildren Abigail, Jared, Eric, Rachel and Paige; daughter in law Jinney Kinney Hazen of Dedham, Maine.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dorothy’s caregivers at Wayne Woodlands manor where she resided for the past nine years.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family with interment in the Maplewood Evangelical Cemetery.
