Earl K. Davis

Earl K. Davis, 81, of Hamlin, passed away on the evening of April 20, 2022 at Regional Hospital of Scranton following an illness. His wife of 57 years the former Ann L. Conrad passed away in 2017.

Born in Scranton, Pa, he was the son of the late William C. Davis, Jr. and Romayne Davis Ruane. He was educated in the Scranton School District. Prior to retirement, he was employed for many years as an independent truck driver. He also worked at various local companies, wearing many hats, including Shorten Homes in Scranton, Pa.  He was a United States Army Veteran.

Earl was a longtime member of the Hamlin Fire and Rescue Company where he served as a Fire Police Officer. He recently received an award for 50 years of service.  He enjoyed watching movies, reading books, fishing, conversation with friends, and driving in the Pa countryside.

Surviving are his daughter Catherine Koch and her husband Kevin of Copperas Cove, Tx; a brother William P. Davis and his wife, Gloria, of Connecticut; grandchildren Jessica Koch and her husband William Schuster, Elizabeth Howard and her husband Christopher, and Thomas Koch; 6 great grandchildren (Gaibriel, Tyler, Aaron, Logan, Mariska, and Landon.);  a brother-in-law, Edward Conrad;  sisters-in-law, Rose Marie Conrad and Martha Cook;  nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sandra L. Ruane.

Private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.

A Memorial service for Earl and Ann will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 3:00PM in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel. Private Inurnment for the couple will be in the Veterans’ section of Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst, Pa.
