Edna R. Hill, of Lakeville, died Saturday morning in the replica watches Commonwealth Hospice Inpatient Unit at the Regional Hospital of Scranton after an illness. She was the widow of Clarence Hill.
Born March 1, 1922 in Lake Ariel she was the daughter of the late George and Ruth Edwards Janoske. She was a member of the St Thomas More St Mary’s Parish Community and attended Mass at St Mary’s church in Ledgedale. Prior to her retirement she had been employed for 42 years by the Sherman Underwear Manufacturing Company in Hawley.
Edna loved hunting, fishing and dancing.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregiver Sandy Murphy for all of the kindness and care she showed to Edna as well as the staff of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
She is survived by a daughter in law Dotty Hill of Lakeville; a nephew Thomas Janoske and his wife Gayle of Madison Twp; grandchildren Donald Hill, Darlene Hill and Debra Shook and her husband Gary; nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by a step son Gerald Hill and a brother Kenneth Janoske.
A Blessing service will be held Tuesday at 2pm officiated by Rev. Stephen Stavoy, pastor of the St Thomas More-St Mary’s Parish Community in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.
Friends may call Tuesday from 1pm until time of the service in the funeral home.
Private interment will follow services in Green Gates Cemetery.
