Elaine P. Stevens

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom & Grandmother Elaine Stevens 78, who died peacefully at home surrounded by family on November 19th after a courageous battle with kidney disease. Born on May 22, 1947, Elaine was raised in Lake Ariel, Pa, the youngest child of the late Stewart & Anna Mae Chapman.

Elaine's day to day life was centered around her faith and shown bright to everyone who knew her. She helped to shape and mold every person she met as a member of Hamlin Assembly of God for well over 70 years, but her passion was children. She served as a Sunday school teacher and Missonette leader for 50 years and touched countless children's lives.

In addition to her faith her family meant the world to her. She spent her entire life making sure her daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren knew every day that they were loved and cherished.

Surviving is her daughter Amy Frey and husband Ken of Lake Ariel, granddaughters Britney Stevens and Fiancé Jim Simpson of Lake Ariel, and Kortnee Smith of Annapolis, MD, Great Grandchildren Paige, Jayden, Mason, Maddox, and Mia whom were the light of her life, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Kenneth Stevens; Brothers Lee Chapman, Laurice Chapman, and Elston Chapman; and sister Arlene Stevens.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Allyson Favuzza and Kaelyn of Hometown Healthcare and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their care during this short but hard fought battle.

Memorial contributions can me made in Elaine's name to Hospice of the Sacred Heart.

Services will be held on November 28th at Hamlin Assembly of God. Friends may call at 5:00pm with a memorial service starting at 6:00pm.
