Elouise Wood Polley

Elouise Wood, 69, of Drinker, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday surrounded by her family.

Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Robert Polley and Audrey Hemmler – Polley. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School Class of 1970, and was a life-long member of the Hollisterville Bible Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher. Prior to retirement, she loved her position as a teacher’s aide at the North Pocono Middle School.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Edward; daughter Amanda Shaffer and her husband Benjamin, of Hollisterville; sons Michael Wood, of Mt. Cobb, and Kevin Wood and his wife Tonya, of Ft. Dix, NJ; a brother James Polley and his wife Regina, of Hollisterville; grandchildren Samuel Wood, Jackson Wood, and Joshua Shaffer; and many loving nieces and nephews. One of Elouise’s greatest joys and accomplishments was being a Grandma to her three grandsons.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 22 at 2:00PM in the pavilion at the Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Company, 405 Cortez Rd, Jefferson Twp, Pa 18436.

Private Interment, Hollisterville Cemetery.
