Ethel Mickel

Ethel Mickel, 96, of Hamlin died Sunday night at the Wayne Memorial Hospital after an illness. Her husband was the late Clay Mickel who died in 1999.
Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late William and Yula Enslin Hawk, she attended the Bidwell Hill School and was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She had worked at the original Hamlin Diner for over 23 years.
Surviving are a son Donald of Hamlin; a daughter Beverly Gregory of Honesdale; grandchildren Peter Gregory, Jr. and his wife Cathy, Russell Gregory and his wife Wanda, Donald Mickel, Jr., and Leigh DePew and his wife Becky; extended family Pat Krisovitch, Alex Fetherman, Addyson Pruss, Anthony and Kayla Pruss; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by brothers Kenneth and Robert Hawk; sisters Addie Conklin, Ilene Field, and Betty Clark; and a son in law Peter Gregory, Sr.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to staff of the Ellen Memorial Health Care Center especially the Blue Unit for their compassionate and dedicated care.
Funeral Services will be Saturday at 11:00am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.
Friends may call Friday from 4:00-7:00pm.
Spring interment, Salem Cemetery, Hamlin.
