Evelyn Merring Mignerey

Evelyn Merring, a lifelong resident of Lake Ariel, died early Saturday morning in the Regional Hospital of Scranton after an illness.  She was the wife of Louis Guy Merring who died in 2000.

Born 1933 in Lake Ariel, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Estelle Pawloski Mignerey.   She was a graduate of the Lake Consolidated School.  She was an active and dedicated member of the Avoy Christian Church where she enjoyed playing the organ and piano for many years.  She had been employed in several occupations, the last of which was at the Lakeville Post Office.

Evelyn loved her home, flowers gardens and caring for her feline friends.   She also enjoyed quilting and crafting and was an excellent cook and baker.

Surviving are her son Ronald Merring and his wife Jackie; grandchildren Ronald Jr., Brian, Stacy and Kylie Merring; a great granddaughter Lilly;

The family would like to thank the Julia Ribaudo Nursing Home staff for their care as well as the relatives and friends for their visits, care and love.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Friends may call Saturday morning from 9am until the time of service.

Interment, Avoy Cemetery.
