Frank Barretta

FRANK M. BARRETTA, Lake Ariel, PA, formerly of Manhasset, NY died 13th May after a long battle with cancer.  Son of the late Lawrence and Mary Barretta, brother to Mary Ann Koch-Betz, Rose B. Zosuls (Andris), Antoinette/Toni (James) Wheeler, Catherine T. Barretta, Lawrence Barretta (Neri), and  many nieces and nephews. Frank was an excellent carpenter, boat designer and builder of open rough water recreational rowing shells.  He had a passion for sculling and developed “the world’s most comfortable rowing seat”.  He loved living in the  woods surrounded by nature, the “critters” and lakes where he could row. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served during the Viet Nam War aboard the USS Forrestal, surviving the tragic fire of July 29, 1967 in the Gulf of Tonkin.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be planned for a later date.
