Franklin F. Merring

Franklin F. Merring of Lake Ariel died Tuesday morning at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit following an illness. His wife was the former Janet Mickel who died in 1986.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Fred and Nettie Young Merring, he was a graduate of the Lake Consolidated School and worked as a truck driver for Rogers Motor Lines and then John T. Howe Oil Co.

He enjoyed auto racing, woodworking, ATVs and camping and boating.

Surviving are a son Fred and his wife Leigh Ann of Lake Ariel; daughter Louise Moore and her husband Dale of Kemah, TX and Roxann Gaus and her husband Jim of Deer Park, TX; brothers Kenneth and his wife Barbara of Easton, PA, Elwood and his wife Kathy and Bill and his wife Suzanne all of Lake Ariel; grandchildren Denise Kautz, Traci Gianukos, Janet Baluta, Josh Barber, and Dustin Merring; great-grandchildren Gracie Merring, David, Krystle, and Cree Kautz Aiden and Aaron Archer and Dimitry Gianukos; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Friday August 26 ^th at 1:00pm in the Salem Cemetery, Cemetery Rd. Hamlin.

Cremation took place in the Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
