Gary Allen Caridad, a beloved father and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on April 24, 1938, in Brooklyn, NY, Gary spent the last 33 years residing in Lake Ariel, PA.

A proud American, he served in the Navy from June 16, 1957, until April 23, 1959 on the U.S.S. Pocono AGC-16 and achieving the rank of MM3. Gary dedicated his career to assisting others in the utility industry, working as a debt collector for Con Edison.

Gary's life was rich with adventure, as he and his wife traveled extensively across the United States and embarked on memorable cruises, forging lasting friendships along the way. He was known for his exceptional storytelling ability, always bringing joy and laughter to those around him. His love for playing bocce in the company of friends, who became family over the years, added to the warmth and camaraderie he fostered.

He is survived by his son, Stephen Caridad, and daughter-in-law, Dawn Caridad. 

Gary's spirit will be carried on through the loving memories he created and the smiles he inspired in everyone he met.

He will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery 361 Sharrott Ave., Staten Island, NY 10309.

Gary will be deeply missed but forever celebrated by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
