George "Glenn" Glossenger

George “Glenn” Glossenger, 84, of Lake Ariel, died Saturday evening at Gino J. Merli Veterans’ Center following an illness.

Born in Lakeville, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Ella Lennon Glossenger. Prior to retirement he was employed by Laborers Local 130 Union in Scranton. He was a member of the St. Thomas More / St. Mary’s Parish Community. He was a United States Army Veteran and served in the Reserves. Glenn had many joys in life: traveling, fishing, and hunting.

The family would like to thank the Administration, Staff, and Third floor nurses at Gino J. Merli Veterans’ Center for the unconditional care given to Glenn and our family.

Surviving are brothers Kenneth Glossenger of Florida and Donald Glossenger and his wife Jan of Hamlin; sisters Marilyn Wormuth of Lake Ariel and Sandra Aleckna and her husband John of Lake Ariel; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sisters Dorothy Singer and Marie Finan, both of Hawley.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00am in St. Mary’s Church, 334 St. Mary Church Rd. Lake Ariel.

Anyone attending the mass is asked to go directly to the church.

Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Interment, B.V.M Queen of Peace Cemetery, Hawley.
