Gloria C. Day of Newfoundland died Monday at Regional Hospital of Scranton following an illness. Her husband was James A. Day.

Born on Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Michael and Blanche Forney Campbell, she had worked as a telephone operator for St. Claire’s Hospital, Denville, NJ.

She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, and watching television.

Surviving are sons Christopher C. Day and his fiance Christine of Boonton, NJ and James A. Day, Jr. of Buffalo, NY; grandchildren Christopher and Michael Day and Devon Day; her beloved friend Sandra Smith of Newfoundland.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at in the Hemlock Grove United Methodist Church 491 Roemerville Road, Greentown, PA 18426.

Cremation took place in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
