Harvey Forget, The Hideout, Lake Ariel, died Wednesday evening in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit after battling Leukemia for twelve years and Lymphoma since 2013. His wife of 56 years is the former Genevieve Jill Duffy.
Born December 27, 1942 in Bridgeport, CT he was the son of the late Harvey and Myrtle Sawyer Forget. Harvey was a truck driver and a proud member of the Teamsters 191 for 25 years as well as the town of Fairfield for 20 years. He was a member of the St Thomas More St Mary’s Parish Community where he was active with its hospitality committee and also helped with the food pantry. Along with his church activities Harvey was also an active member of The Hideout where he participated in the golfing league, the woodworkers club, HASG and the bowling league. He was a diehard Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
Also surviving are a son Harvey J. Forget of Spring Hill, FL; daughters Tammy Higgins and her husband Pat of Bethel, CT, Michelle Forget-Asmar and her husband Michael of South Windsor, CT and Carolyn Popowchak and her husband Tom of Ansonia, CT; a brother David Forget of Stratford, CT; nine grandchildren April, Mallory and Janelle Forget, Patrick and Katlyn Higgins, Anthony and Jill Asmar, Amanda Roscoe and Thomas Popowchak; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters Janice Markus and Barbara Turner.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10am in the St Thomas More Church 105 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.
All attending the Mass are invited to go directly to the church.

Cremation will follow in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home.
