Herbet C. Cottrell

Herbert “Sonny” C. Cottrell, 74 of  Lake Ariel, died Friday at Regional Hospital of Scranton following an illness.

Born in Burnwood, Susquehanna County, Pa , son of the late Earl and Juanita (Wademan) Cottrell. He was a graduate of Susquehanna Community High School Class of 1958 and a Veteran of the United States Army.

Prior to retirement Herbert was employed by Links Corp & Lockheed Martin. He also was a handyman and worked at Schaffer’s Hardware in Hamlin. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, square dancing, fishing, and Nascar.

Surviving are a daughter Tina Cooper and her husband James of Old Forge;  a son Dale  and his companion Ronda of Simpson; sisters Barbara Phillips and her husband William, Charlotte Thomas and her husband Dale; a brother Arnold and his wife Carol and  his companion Judy Williams; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Saturday, May 2 from 3:00-5:00pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Rd., Lake Ariel. And Sunday from 3:00-5:00pm in the East Ararat United Methodist Church, East Ararat, Pa. a memorial service and burial to follow.

Interment, East Ararat Cemetery.

Cremation took place at the Lake Region Crematory
