James Edley

James Edley, 93 (1929-2023) of Honesdale, passed away early Sunday morning in the Ellen Memorial Health Care Center after an illness.   His wife was the former Elvina Mae Conover who passed away in 2012.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, he was the son of the late Frank Edley and Rose Nagy-Edley.  He served his country proudly as a Tank Commander Tank Drill Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, receiving two purple hearts.

Surviving are a daughter Rose Edley Miller and her husband Gary of Forest City; sons William and his wife Anna of Mountaintop; Kenneth and his wife Mamie of Seaport, CT; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

A Private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.  Interment will take place with military honors at the historic Piscatawaytown Cemetery, Woodbridge NJ, at the convenience of the family.
