Jimmy, who was also affectionately known as Dad, Grandpa, Grandpa Jimmy, JK, King, George and Bill the Moose, was born in Brooklyn, NY, to John and Catherine Kinsella, and was proud of the Irish heritage he came from and enjoyed all things associated with Ireland. He graduated from Chaminade High School and went on to serve our nation in the United States Navy as an aircraft weight and balance specialist. Following his service, Jimmy dedicated his career to public service as a police officer, ultimately attaining the rank of Lieutenant with the Glen Cove, NY Police Department. After retirement, he moved to Hawley, PA, where he spent the remainder of his life.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife, Anna; his sister Jeanmarie Darien (Ed); his children, Kathie Kinsella-Miller (John) and Michael Kinsella (Mary); and his stepchildren, Calvin Balsam (Cherie), Marcus Balsam (fiancé Cathleen), and Nicole Larkin (Kevin). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Mayan Botts, Keri Boerner, Amelia Kinsella, Nate Kinsella, Breanna Balsam, Tyler Balsam, Chelsea Balsam, Alaura Balsam, Jared Balsam, Ryan Balsam, Kevin Larkin, and Kelly Larkin, along with six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by wives Dolores Kinsella and Mary Kinsella, his brother Jack Kinsella (Eileen) and his granddaughter Elisa Miller.
A devoted family man, Jimmy enjoyed sitting on his front porch smoking an excellent cigar, especially those recommended by dear friends, and he treasured time spent with his family and friends. He also enjoyed reading about history and spending time with his dogs. His kindness, dedication, generosity and sense of humor touched everyone who knew him, and his legacy of service and love will be remembered for generations.
