James J. Masgula

James J. Masgula, 47, of Waymart died Thursday, July 7, 2016. His wife of 19 years Barbara Gryszel Masgula died in 2011

Born in Scranton, son of James Poncavage of Lake Ariel and the late Charlotte Detrick Poncavage, he was a member of the 1987 graduating class of Western Wayne High School. He was a Technial Support Specialist for Loveshaw, South Canaan.

He was a Fire Captain at Waymart Volunteer Fire Co., Firefighter at Maplewood Fire and Rescue Co., and First Responder at Waymart Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He was an avid bike rider

Also surviving are brothers Michael Masgula and John Poncavage, both of Lake Ariel; aunts and uncles; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his Daughter Jillian Masgula.

A memorial service will be held Friday July 22 at 5:45pm in The Waymart Church, 342 Honesdale Road, Waymart, with services by the Rev. Sal  Maiorana, Lead Pastor.

Friends may call from 4:00pm until time of service at the church .
