Janet M. Schmidt Wood

Janet Mary Schmidt, 83, died Tuesday morning following an illness. Her husband of 61 years is John R. Schmidt.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Arthur and Phyllis Lentino Wood, she was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Waymart.

Also surviving are a daughter Patricia “Patt” A. Hreha and her husband Michael of Lake Ariel; a son John G. Schmidt and his wife Gerri of Levittown, NY; a sister Kathleen Constein and her husband Harry of Lancaster, PA; 2 grandsons Christopher and Stephen Schmidt.

She was preceded in death by a brother Robert Wood.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:00am in St. Mary’s Church 242 Carbondale Rd. Waymart, PA.

Friends may call Thursday 6:00-8:00pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Interment, Maplewood Evangelical Cemetery, Maplewood.
