Jeanette S. Rhode, 86, of Hollisterville and formerly of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey and of Hawley, PA, died peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2026 after an illness. She was the widow of Alfred Rhode.
Jeanette was born August 8, 1939, in Kilmarnock, Scotland, United Kingdom, and was the daughter of the late William Scott Murphy and Margaret Dunlop Murphy.
Jeanette was a beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Jeanette found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She had a deep love for animals and a special appreciation for the outdoors, enjoying time spent in nature, whether tending to her surroundings, taking in the beauty of a sunny day, or simply sitting outside enjoying the fresh air.
More than anything, Jeanette treasured the time she spent with those she loved. She enjoyed gathering with family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Jeanette is survived by her loving grandson Ryan Young and his wife Brittany; great grandchildren Harrison and Olivia Young; sisters Nessie Willock and Patricia Ressegiue; and nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
Jeanette's legacy of love, kindness, compassion, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she will be greatly missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain a lasting comfort to those fortunate enough to have been part of her life.
Jeanette was also preceded in death by her son and daughter in law Raymond and Antoinette Rhode and sister Anne McDougall.
