Joan A. Seeley Evans

Joan A. Seeley, South Canaan, died Tuesday in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit after an illness. Her husband is Richard Seeley. The couple would have been married 60 years on March 17 ^th .

Born 1936 in Scranton she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret Sealey Evans. She was of the Methodist faith. Prior to her retirement, Joan had been employed by the Waymart Knitwear until its closing and then by the Osprey Ridge Nursing Home.

Joan’s life was her family. She loved them all dearly. She will be missed greatly by all who were blessed to have known her.

Also surviving are daughters Lois Mancini and her husband Anthony, Jr. of Sumter, SC and Donna Weston and her husband Kevin of South Canaan; sons Richard Seeley, Jr. and his wife Susan and John Seeley and his companion Tammy Loyd all of South Canaan; grandchildren Melissa Seeley, Angela Mancini-Humphrey, Cari Morrow, Anthony Mancini, III, Alex Seeley, Jacob and Jillian Weston and Cartter Seeley; great grandchildren Conor, Brynn and Cora Morrow; a nieces Margaret Sutton of Scranton.

She was also preceded in death by a son Arthur W. Seeley; a brother Kenneth Evans; a niece Carol Kizer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel with services by Rev. Art Yetter.

Friends may call Friday from 4-7pm .
