Joann Moore Hicks, 56, Dunmore passed away peacefully Thursday, November 5 in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit, Dunmore with her family by her side. 

Joann was born June 14, 1970 in Scranton and was the daughter of the late Walter D and Jean Ann Santoli Moore. She was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and upon graduation went into the workforce. She worked for Beacon Specialized Living up until the time of her illness. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Scranton. 

She prided herself on caring for others and loved her family deeply. She was a beloved "Grammy" to her 4 grandchildren of whom she absolutely adored. 

Surviving are her partner James Cook; son, Christopher Kreidler; daughter, Lauren Rose; daughter in law; Noelle Kilgore; grandchildren, Gavin, Lincoln, Jaxon and Benson; sister, Lori Taroli; brother David Moore and wife Dawn; Aunt, Helen Oliver; Cousin, Jay Oliver; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephew. 

She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Ron Taroli and Uncle, Chuck Oliver. 

The family extends their thanks and gratitude to the nurses and staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, for their care, compassion and support.

 A celebration of Joann's life will be held November 16 in the Vanston and James Funeral Home from 5pm until 7 PM with words of remembrance to commence at 7 PM.
