John W. Dowd, Honesdale, died Friday in the Regional Hospital of Scranton after an illness. His wife of 29 years is the former Maria Luisa Pizzi.
Born in Weehawken, NJ he was the son of the late Edward and Marion Dowd. John was a true jack of all trades. He could do anything in the building and electrical fields. His work history was extensive spanning time as a mechanic for a soda company, a self employed auto mechanic as well as farming and construction. He was always willing and able to help anyone in need.
He loved remote control car racing and remote control airplanes. He spent much time at Marshall’s Hobby in Beach Lake.
Also surviving are a sister Marian Zustra and her husband James of Manalapan, NJ; nephews Jason and Michael Zustra.
Services will be held Saturday June 6 th at 2pm at the Honesdale Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2756 Lake Ariel Highway, Honesdale.
