John Joseph Higgins, Jr.

John Joseph Higgins, Jr.

John J. Higgins, Jr., 63 of Scranton, passed away at home after a recurrence with cancer.

Born and raised in Scranton, he was son of the late John Joseph Higgins, Sr. and the late former Susan A. Hutchins.

John had a wide variety of work experience throughout his life, including Cove Haven, various painting and construction work and many years at Specialty Records (later known as WEA and CINRAM).

He loved hunting and fishing, proudly displaying his trophies. He was a proud veteran having served in the Army National Guard.

Surviving are sisters Victorine and Mary; brother, Patrick; son, Justin; nieces, Sarah, Becky and Marlena; nephews, Jimmy and Tim; five great-nephews and four great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Linda, and a brother Victor.

Private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory.

Services will be held at the James H. Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20 at 12 Noon.  Friends may call from 11AM until the start of the service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the James H. Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
