John "Jack"
Lamberton
Jul 4, 1948 — Oct 25, 2026
South Canaan
John "Jack" Lamberton, 78, of South Canaan, passed away on Sunday, October 25th at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania following a brief illness. His wife of 51 years is the former Paula Rosetti.
Born in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Robert H. and Ruth Emery - Lamberton. He was a graduate of Waymart High School and earned his Bachelor's of Accounting from Bob Jones University. Jack owned and operated Lamberton Construction for many years. Prior to retirement, he was the Chief Operating Engineer of the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel in Scranton.
He found happiness in the simple things in life, whether it was riding his bike along the D&H Trail, tending to his beloved honeybees, or spending time with family. Known for his one-of-a-kind sense of humor, he especially enjoyed a little light-hearted ribbing with his nieces and nephews, often getting just as much amusement out of it as they did. He had a knack for making people laugh, sometimes when they least expected it. Above all, he cherished his grandchildren, whom he loved deeply and made every effort to keep in touch with each day. His quick wit, warm heart, and mischievous spirit will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Also surviving is his daughter Ashley Walker and her husband Vince of Jessup; sons John Lamberton of Waymart and Michael Lamberton and his wife Meg of Oakland, NJ; grandchildren Samuel, Dylan, and Paige; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his sister Ellen Daly; brothers Richard, Dave, Robert, Tom, and Larry Lamberton.
Funeral services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.
