John J. Ryan, 74, of Lake Ariel died peacefully Tuesday morning at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. His loving wife of 16 years is the former Roxanne Scaccio.
Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late William and Anne Ryan. He was a member of the St. Thomas More / St. Mary’s Parish Community. Prior to retirement, he was an Ironworker for Local 40 in New York.
Jack as he was known to friends was an amazing man, loved by all who knew him. He was a wonderful husband that was loving and kind and the most generous man. He was a great friend and would help anyone. He enjoyed playing golf and hanging with his buddies. In his retirement years he was happy with the simple things in life.
Also surviving are a sister Mary (Lou), brothers Frank and Grover Ryan and Daniel and Mary Ryan.
He was preceded in death by a brother Billy Ryan.
Private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
Due to the current health crisis, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a date and time to be announced in St. Thomas More Church, Lake Ariel. There will also be a celebration of his life, date and time will be announced.
Arrangements are entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the James Wilson Funeral Home, Lake Ariel.

Private cremation took place at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
Due to the current health crisis, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a date and time to be announced in St. Thomas More Church, Lake Ariel. There will also be a celebration of his life, date and time will be announced.
