John C. Schaefer

John C. Schaefer, Lake Ariel, died Saturday morning in the Hospice Unit at the Geisinger South Hospital, Wilkes Barre, PA. Beloved husband to Linda Gundersen Schaefer for 39 years.

Born in Queens he was the son of the late John J and Erika Fietkau Schaefer.   He was a member of the Light of Christ Church.   He was retired from Teamsters Local 707.

Also surviving are children Jason and his wife Stephanie of Jessup, Jaime Aleckna and her husband Steve of Lake Ariel, Michael Schaefer and his fiancé Jill Varnadore of South Carolina and Kristine Schaefer of Lake Ariel;   sisters Eileen Calabrese and husband George, Frances Schaefer and fiancé Anthony Tramontano both of Florida, Erika Michel and husband Michael of Queens, New York;  grandchildren Adriaghna, Julian, Zayden, Michael, Ryan, Morgan, Molly and Leiana.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Julia Schaefer.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Noon in the Light of Christ Church, Lake Spangenburg Rd. Jefferson Twp. with Rev Pat Lee officiating.

Friends may call Wednesday morning from 11am until time of service.

Cremation will follow in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home.
