John Weidner

John Weidner, 53, Honesdale, passed away early Sunday morning after a short battle with cancer at his home with his loving companion Karen Bush at his side.

Born in 1971 in Honesdale, he was the son of Larry R. Weidner and his wife Luanne and Carol Tiel Calicchio and her husband Chuck. He was a 1989 graduate of Honesdale High School and then went on to work for the Edw. J. Schwarz Car Dealership, and was most recently the caretaker of the Wee Quahik Camp. He also worked throughout the area as a general contractor.

Also surviving are his son Dale Weidner and his wife Tania; brother Mark Weidner and his wife Jaime; sister Jennifer Weidner-Clark and her husband Frank; uncles including Danny and Robert; a niece and nephews.

John most admired his grandfathers, John Weidner and Wayne Tiel. He spent allot of his childhood at the gas station and cement plant. Not only was John their namesake but also helped to make him the man he was.

He was preceded in death by his brother Larry Jr and his sister Allison.
