Joseph J Wagner

Joseph John Wagner, Dunmore passed away peacefully July 11, 2025 at Green Ridge Care Center. He was preceded in death by his wife Ann Marie MacDonald Wagner in 2016 and his son Thomas "TJ" in 2017.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Joseph and Frances Radziewski Wagner. Joe was a member of St. Mary's Parish, Dunmore. A graduate of Saint Mary's High School and Lackawanna Jr. College, Scranton. Joe served his country by joining the Army in 1955.

He was retired from Lackawanna County Housing and from Capital Records where he would proudly tell everyone that is where he met the love of his life Ann Marie.

Joseph enjoyed many years of golfing and loved his trips to the casino and gym with friends and family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be missed.

Surviving is his granddaughter, Holly M. Wagner, Philadelphia; his daughter-in-law Lori A Wagner, Dunmore who were his caregivers. A brother Paul Wagner (Vicky), Wharton, NJ and a sister Carol Rothenberger (Robert), Delaware ; numerous nieces and nephews.

His sisters, Rosemary Wagner and Betty Lou Saville, and a brother George Wagner all from Scranton preceded him in death.

The family wishes to thank the staff at The Green Ridge Care Center and Dr. Nicholas Dodge for their considerate care.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 26th at 9:30am in the St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church 322 Chestnut Street Dunmore.

Interment with miliatry honors, Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.
