Katherine (Kate) Pearl Brink Swingle
Katherine was born January 20, 1925, daughter of the late Benjamin and Pearl Brown Brink born in Paupack, PA. She passed from this life aged 93 years on August 16, 2018 nearly 12 yrs after the passing of her husband of 64 years, Carleton Floyd Swingle. Carleton and Kate married in 1942 and settled in Lake Ariel where they raised four children. After retiring from her job at Cove Haven, she was a homemaker and mother known for her pristine yard mowing and a love of the NY Yankees, especially Derek Jeter. Kate was loved by all lucky enough to know her.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Lake Ariel for many years, serving in the United Methodist Women and as a Sunday School teacher.
She is survived by her children Darlene and husband Eric Lutz, Texas; Rosemary and husband David Tregaskis, Lake Ariel; Mark and wife Maureen Swingle, Archbald. Also her grandchildren, Pamela Ellis, Dana Ortiz, David Elias, April Montalvo, Amber Brenzovich, Brian Swingle, Amy Coalter, Judy Swingle, and Troy Swingle; great grandchildren, Kevin Meeks, Emily and Jamie Ellis, Abigail, Tyler, and Ava Brenzovich, Eva, Ethan, and Kori Montalvo, Arianna and Avery Ortiz, David, Austin and Khloe Elias, Ruby Coalter and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son Ronald, daughter Caroline and siblings, Robert, Raymond, Warren, Donald, Benjamin, Annabelle Eskra and Margaret Henneforth.
The family will hold a graveside service officiated by the Rev. William Rushik in the Salem Cemetery at 11am on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Memorial contributions can be made out to the Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center Patient Activity Fund or Wayne Memorial Hospital Hospice.
