Kerry John Smith Sr, born on December 23, 1940, in Kunkletown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on April 20, 2025. A dedicated laborer in the metal industry for many years, he found fulfillment in his work at Banner Fabricated. While he did not pursue formal education beyond the ninth grade, Kerry’s wisdom and life experiences spoke volumes to those who knew him.
A devoted family man, Kerry is survived by his loving spouse Nancy Smith and their children: daughter Wanda Miller, son Kerry Jr., daughter Sharon Ojinaga, daughter Mary Ellen Lazaro, and son Kevin Smith. He is also survived by his brothers Tim and Henry Smith, and sisters Carol Counterman, Eileen Ziegenfuse, and Lila Zelko. Kerry cherished his time with family and friends, choosing to live his life surrounded by loved ones, which reflected his humble spirit.
Kerry loved the outdoors and had a particular passion for collecting antiques, which highlighted his appreciation for history and craftsmanship. His warmth, kindness, and gentle nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Private Cremation has taken place at Lake Region Crematory, and the family will announce future memorial services and ceremonies to celebrate Kerry’s remarkable life.
Kerry was preceded in death by Clark Smith, Arleen Smith, Donald Smith, and Connon Smith.
