Lawrence F. Cross, of Newton, NJ, died Monday at Newton Medical Center following a lengthy battle with heart disease.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Dr. Albert J. and Carolyn Lansing Cross he was a graduate of Abington Heights High School. He attended Wilkes University, and Penn State University and had a passion for architecture and history. He had been employed at Thor Labs, Newton, NJ for many years, and was a very proud veteran of the U.S. Army and the National Guard. Larry was a voracious reader, particularly searching for how to help people to find a path to experience the love and peace of Jesus in their lives, which he lived through his work as a Freemason.

Surviving are daughters Jill Barry and Adria Howe; a son Lawrence F. Cross, II; a brother AJ Cross; a sister, Susan Lynn Cross; grandchildren Ashlee, Zachary, Matthew, Daniel, Eva, Alessandra, and Ava. He was preceded in death by a brother Richard.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 23 rd at 12pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Stanhope, 100 Main Street, Stanhope NJ 07874

Interment Tuesday July 26 th at 1:00pm, Pine Grove Cemetery, South Sterling, PA.
